Achilles - Son of Peleus and the sea goddess Thetis. Educated by the centaur Chiron. The greatest Greek warrior of the Trojan War. His "Achilles Heel" was his only vulnerable spot, as he was dipped into the fire as an infant, to protect him from all harm, but was held by his heel which did not get dipped.

Amaterasu Omi Kami - The Shinto sun goddess of Japan. Beauty.

Aphrodite - Venus. The goddess of love. Born of the ocean foam, from the severed genitals of Uranus.

Apollo - Son of Zeus and Leto. Twin brother of Artemis (Diana). God of the sun, fine arts, medicine, music, poetry, eloquence. Along with Diana, raised Chiron to adulthood after he was thrown off the cliff by his mother.

Ares - Mars. God of war. Son of Zeus and Hera. Illicit lover of Aphrodite.

Artemis - (Diana, Cynthia) Daughter of Zeus and Leto. Twin sister of Apollo. Virgin goddess of the moon and hunting. Patroness of unmarried girls and of chastity. Any man who viewed her naked (without permission) was killed.

Athena - (Pallas Athena, Minerva) Born from the forehead (3rd Eye) of Zeus, fully armed for battle. Virgin goddess of wisdom, skills, warfare, a natural strategist and overseer.

Aura - Goddess of the breeze. Daughter of Eos (Aurora).

Aurora - Goddess of the dawn. Daughter of Hyperion and Thea.

Baba Yaga - Slavic goddess representing birth-death. Wild Woman of the woods.

Bast - Egyptian cat-headed goddess of pleasure, joy, music, dance, health, healing, the Moon and cats.

Brigid - Celtic goddess of fire, fire of inspiration, smithcraft, poetry, healing and divination.

Ceres - (Demeter) Daughter of Cronus and Rhea. Goddess of agriculture, grain, harvest, fruits, flowers, fertility of the earth. Mother of Persephone.

Cerridwen - Welsh goddess of death and rebirth, the moon, inspiration, poetry, prophecy, shape-shifting. she is the "White Sow", the revered Crone Goddess into whose Cauldron we must enter to be reborn.

Chiron - Son of Zeus. A centaur; half man, half horse. Famous for his knowledge of medicine, music, shooting. Taught mankind the use of plants and medicinal herbs.

Chronos - Saturn. God of the Earth plane and time. Father of the titans, and son of Uranus, whom he castrated. (see Venus)

Coatlicue - The mother of the Aztec gods. Earth mother, goddess of life and death.

Corn Woman - Native Indian goddess of nourishment.

Cupid - (Eros, Amor) God of love. Son of Hermes (Mercury) and Aphrodite (Venus).

Dionysus - God of wine and revelry, celebration of the earth and body, debauchery.

Durga - Hindu goddess of boundaries.

Eostre - German goddess of fertility, agriculture and spring.

Ereshkigal - Sumerian goddess of the netherworld, sister to Inanna (Ishtar).

Erinyes - The forces of retribution personified as three spirits. Unrest, jealousy, vengeance.

Estsanatlehi - Native Indian goddess of self-renewal, cycles.

Eurynome - Pre-Greek goddess of ecstasy and all things.

Fauna - Goddess of fertility, nature, farming, animals.

Flora - Goddess of flowers, gardens and love.

Freya - Northern European goddess of sexuality.

Gaea - Mother Earth.

Gyhldeptis - The forest goddess of the Tlingit and Haida people of northwest North America.

Hades - (Pluto) Ruler of the underworld also called Hades). Son of Cronus and Rhea. Husband of Persephone.

Hathor - Egyptian goddess of birth,death, bodily pleasures, sound, music, song, dance, art, love and touch.

Hecate - Pre-Greek goddess of midwives, birth, fertility, dark of the moon, magic, wealth, education, ceremonies and the Underworld.

Hephaestus - (Vulcan) Son of Zeus and Hera. God of fire and patron of all artists who worked with iron and metal.

Hera - (Juno) Daughter of Cronos and Rhea, sister and wife of Zeus. Goddess of women and childbirth.

Hercules - Son of Zeus. Renowned for feats of strength. "Twelve Labors of Hercules" equate with the twelve signs of the zodiac.

Hermes - (Mercury) Son of Zeus and Maia. The messenger of the gods. God of wealth, trade, travelers, commerce, manual skill, thieves and the wind. Wore winged sandals and helmet which afforded him free passage between the Underworld and the Upper World.

Hestia - (Vesta) The virgin goddess of the hearth, symbol of the home. Daughter of Chronos and Rhea. known for her absolute dedication and focus in guarding the eternal flame on her altar.

Inanna - Sumerian goddess (Venus-like) who represents embracing the shadow, and is known for her journey through the seven gates to the "Great Place Below".

Isis - Egyptian goddess of mothering. Sister and Lover of Osiris, and finder of the 14th "missing piece" when he was dismembered by Set, his shadow brother.

Ix Chel - Mayan goddess of creativity, weaving, magic, health, healing, sexuality, water and childbirth.

Kali - Hindu triple goddess of creation, preservation and destruction. Known as "the black one" she conjures fear; consort of Shiva.

Kuan Yin - Chinese goddess of compassion. symbolizes the epitome of the Feminine.

Lady of Beasts - Sumerian, Indian goddess of relationships, fertility, creativity and the life-giving force.

Lakshmi - Hindu goddess of abundance.

Lilith - Sumerian dark goddess of female power.

Maat - Egyptian goddess of justice, law, order, truth.

Maeve - Irish goddess of responsibility.

Maya - Hindu and Buddhist goddess of illusion, intelligence, creativity, water and magic.

Minerva - (Pallas Athena) Goddess of intelligence, creativity, wisdom, domestic skills and handicrafts. she invented weaving when pitted against Mars in battle. (She wove across his path, and he ran right into it.)

Morgan Le Faye - Celtic triple goddess of death, rebirth and rhythms.

Nu Kua - Chinese goddess of order.

Nut - Egyptian goddess of the night sky, mystery.

Oshun - Brazilian goddess of the waters, rivers, streams, brooks, sensuality.

Oya - African goddess of weather, tornadoes, lightning, destructive rainstorms, fire female leadership, persuasive charm, transformation and change.

Pachamama - Pre-Incan goddess of the earth and healing.

Pan - Son of Hermes. Greek god of flocks, shepherds, forests, wild life, fertility, patron of shepherds and hunters. Part man, part goat.

Pele - Polynesian goddess of awakening and volcanoes.

Poseidon - (Neptune) The god of the sea and underground disturbances (earthquakes). Son of Chronos and Rhea.

Psyche - The personification of the human soul. Cupid's wife. Her "tasks" assigned by Cupid's mother, Aphrodite, are the keys to the human feminine psyche.

Rhiannon - the White Mare, the Welsh Queen of the Otherworld, whose Birds could soothe the souls of the most troubled of mortals.

Sedna - Inuit goddess of the sea, represents victims.

Sekhmet - Egyptian goddess of the destructive aspect of the sun, anger and rage.

Shakti - Hindu goddess of divine energy.

Sheila Na Gig - Irish goddess of birth, death and being open to facing your fears of aging.

Sophia - Greek goddess of wisdom.

Sphinx - Greek goddess of challenge.

Sulis - Celtic goddess of illness, wellness and the journey to light, health and wholeness.

Tara - Indian and Tibetan goddess of self-mastery and mysticism, centering, to steer a clear path, to find the stillness and strength within.

Uzume - Japanese goddess of laughter.

Yemaya - African goddess of the sea, surrender.

Zeus - (Jupiter) Son of Chronos and Rhea. Ruler of heaven and earth, of all gods and men. "King of the Gods," God of thunderbolts. Married to Hera/Juno who held equal status.
